Chick-Fil-A could have avoided this public relations nightmare if they followed the Bible from the beginning!
If you’re in the US, you know how absolutely insane people are treating this whole Chick-Fil-A corporate donation debacle.
Backstory Of Chick-Fil-A
For those outside the US, a chicken fast food chain had a Christian founder who mandated his restaurants to be closed on Sundays. The business engaged in corporate giving to Christian charities. When they got public backlash for supporting those charities, they changed their giving policy to no longer support them.
Let’s remember, this is a fast food chicken restaurant, not a church.
God Doesn’t Make Arbitrary Rules
If there’s one thing that you should take away from this ongoing PR disaster is this: #crackyourbible AND put God’s Word into practice. ALL OF IT.
None of this drama would have happened if they had followed Matthew 6:3–4 from the beginning and never did public charity. The family would have saved so much trouble if they only did private charity.
“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” — Matthew 6:3–4 ESV
