It’s happened again. Another strike to yet another social media account for supposed “hate speech.” You’d think with all of the vitriol and hatred online, simply quoting the Bible would hardly make a blip on moderators’ screens, but you’d be wrong. So wrong.

Censorship, persecution and smear campaigns have never been a topic foreign to Christians. This is something that Christ told us would be par for the course when joining into the Body of Christ.

“11 Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” — Matthew 5:11–12

While Christians in developing countries have been no stranger to beatings, imprisonment and even death for simply practicing their faith, this persecution has gone global as crimethink, or the thoughts that are unorthodox or outside of the official government platform, in George Orwell’s 1984, has come into fruition.

Not content with simply mocking Christians, the biggest media companies are actively censoring Christians for sharing their faith. Naturally, they can’t simply say “no Christian content” without some sort of PR spin, which may take a modicum of effort that they’re not willing to make. With a glaring notice of “this content has been removed for hate speech” displayed on a Christian’s profile, these companies libel Christians by terminating accounts or shadow banning their content under the guise of “hate speech.”

Thanks to organizations such as Project Veritas and the American Center for Law and Justice, we know that conservative voices are shadow banned on platforms like Twitter and Reddit, or they’re unfairly harassed through organizations such as the US IRS. It’s time Christians wake up to the realization that society is crumbling thanks in large part to the powers that be that are actively censoring Christian content as a means to sway public opinion.

Christians are constantly under attack for simply stating their beliefs or quoting their only Holy Book. We know that it will not get better — and that’s okay. In the mean time, don’t worry if it seems you’re a small voice in a sea of opposing voices. The Prince of this world is actively drowning out the voices of your Christian brothers and sisters for a time — but it will not always be this way.

While it may seem tempting to go with the crowed, remember this:

“You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” — James 4:4

In these trying times, stay strong and remember that the theology from the crowd is censored and corrupted. When it comes to sound theology, you need to Crack Your Bible for yourself!
