Seems like you were burnt out on Churchianity — I know I am, and I teach Christian theology! I haven’t been in a Church since October because Churchianity isn’t Christianity.

I’m not surprised that coming out of a Bethel program / Jesus Culture atmosphere left you with questions concerning your faith and God. There are many of us who decry them for being purveyors of New Age nonsense, such as Kundalini and people rolling on the floor, shaking, laughing uncontrollably, etc. None of that is scriptural.

This week I was randomly looking into other theologians' work on the mass misquoting of Jeremiah 29:11. It’s constantly taken out of context to be used like a blanket that God has great plans for everyone. Not so.

When it comes to God’s sovereignty or should we follow Him simply because He exists, luckily we have a choice.

If you turn to the Bible and distance yourself from the buffoonery of most mega churches, you’ll get the answers for your questions, regardless if you decide to come back to God or not.
