Thanks for this. I can say from having little to no experience with professional graphic design, I had a hard time coming up with a logo for my business when I got started a few months ago. Finally I said, “forget this” and found a font I liked, messed around with the kerning and voila! I have an easy placeholder “logo” until I get the capital to get a professional piece done.
