What Christians Don’t Consider About The Climate Change Debate

#ClimateChange is a contentious issue, yet as Christians, we must remember that in Genesis 1:26, God didn't give Adam & his descendants dominion over the earth simply to trash it.

👨‍👦 A GOOD FATHER 🌌

As Hebrews 12:9 reminds us, God is our Father. Like an earthly father, would a good parent be pleased with a child who trashes their room, toys and clothing? How many parents would rightly take away their child's belongings if they couldn't be bothered to take care of the things they've been given?

Would a teenager or an adult child who moved home get a pass to trash their room in a parent's home and use the excuse, "it's mine so I can do with it however I please?"

🌎 THE EARTH IS HIS 🌍

If the earth and everything in it belongs to God, as Psalm 24:1 and 1 Corinthians 10:26 tell us, why, as His children, would we assume that it is our "right" to trash it? God has given us dominion so that we can act as authorities to be the stewards of His belongings.

Like a child's belongings are blessings from the parent, so too is this temporary home for God's people.
